About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the NICU assesses, diagnoses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care through outcome identification and evidence-based practice. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the RN coordinates care and communicates and collaborates extensively with team members, patients, and patients’ families or significant others. The RN maintains high standards of professional ethics. Level 3 NICU experience is required. This is a full-time, on-site position in Voorhees, New Jersey, working a 12-hour day shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., totaling 36 hours per week.

Requirements

Valid New Jersey RN license, maintained in accordance with State of New Jersey licensing board requirements.
Level 3 NICU experience.
Knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures, and standards.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to coordinate the efforts of a team of care providers.
Keep nursing skills current through ongoing education and professional journals.

Responsibilities

Assess patients and develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care.
Administer, monitor, and document therapeutic interventions and regimens.
Effectively manage rapidly changing situations.
Participate in clinical decision-making.
Educate patients and families or responsible parties about disease processes, individual care needs, wellness, and safety issues.
Delegate and monitor care provided by other members of the nursing department and healthcare team.
Apply standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.
Participate in orientation, education, and development of the healthcare team.
Identify and participate in performance improvement activities.
Maintain professional and departmental competencies.
Coordinate patient care and collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families.
