About The Position

This is an adaptive acuity unit where travelers may be asked to provide PCU care with a 3:1 ratio. This care is non-negotiable and cannot be refused. Drip experience is required, specifically with Insulin drips, Esmolol drips, and Sodium drips. Charge nurse experience is required for this need. Travelers without charge experience or who are unwilling to work charge will not be considered. A 48-hour guarantee is not available for this need. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:5, with 25 beds on the unit. Requested time off during the course of this assignment must be noted and verified at upload. RTO requests after upload or during the interview will not be approved. No more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted, and less is preferred. Please ensure all travelers uploaded to needs on My Desk note when they can be reached and have voicemail set up on their phones. Travelers without voicemail setup when a facility reaches out will be redirected. Non-billable orientation is 0 hours. Holiday multiplier is 1.25%. Overtime has no multiplier and will be worked at the regular rate. Call and call-back are not applicable for this need. Charge nurse pay is an additional $3/hour.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CURRENT med surg/tele experience
  • CHARGE EXPERIENCE [REQUIRED]
  • Progressive Care Unit/PCU experience [Strongly REQUIRED]
  • DRIP EXPERIENCE IS [REQUIRED]
  • ICU experience [strongly preferred]
  • TRAVELER MUST BE WILLING TO FLOAT TO ANY INPATIENT UNIT WITHIN THEIR SCOPE OF PRACTICE
  • MINIMUM 3 months previous travel experience [REQUIRED] - NON-NEGOTIABLE
  • Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need

  • Any/All RTO must be included in profile.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care on an adaptive acuity unit, including PCU care when required.
  • Administer medications and drips, including Insulin, Esmolol, and Sodium drips.
  • Work as a charge nurse, which is a required duty.
  • Float to any inpatient unit within their scope of practice if needed.
  • Work every other weekend and holidays as needed.
  • Be available for on-call duties as determined by the facility.
