About The Position

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on their shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care using age-specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries.

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Experience
  • Committed to reporting for all assigned shifts and be on time.
  • Competent with Cardiac medications (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Cardine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Bumex,) and have knowledge of titration and application of these medications.
  • Competent in telemetry and possess knowledge of heart rhythms.
  • Possess critical thinking skills, be able to recognize change in patient status and intervene.
  • Possess knowledge of signs/symptoms of stroke, recognize change in patient status and intervene.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Work history Skills Checklist, current to 1 year, pertinent to the specialty (Med Surg/Telemetry)
  • Active American Heart Association BLS
  • Active American Heart Association ACLS
  • Nursys must show Active Ohio/OH or Compact RN License
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • Active Ohio/OH RN License
