About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Lactation Consultant Program Coordinator for a 13-week travel assignment in Pittsfield, MA. This position is responsible for providing expert assessment, treatment, consultation, planning and leadership oversight for optimal lactation management in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. For patients with advanced lactation support needs, will formulate an interdisciplinary plan of care and communicate with the care team related to these goals and plans.

Requirements

  • Must have 1+ years experience as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) - Equivalent Certs NOT accepted
  • Must have a MINIMUM of 2500 hours as a breast-feeding consultant
  • Experience with inpatient lactation programs required
  • Outpatient prenatal and postpartum lactation education, consultations and/or teaching experience required
  • Meditech Expanse experience [strongly preferred]
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association during employment
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • MA licensed RN, OT, PT, SLP OR PHARMACIST
  • Perm address must be included with profile

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate breastfeeding techniques and patterns of mothers and newborns.
  • Provide education and counseling to expectant mothers on the benefits and techniques of breastfeeding.
  • Offer guidance and support to mothers experiencing difficulties or challenges with breastfeeding, such as latching issues, low milk supply, or painful nursing.
  • Develop individualized care plans and provide appropriate interventions to address breastfeeding concerns.
  • Educate and train healthcare professionals on breastfeeding best practices and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as pediatricians and obstetricians, to ensure coordinated care for mother and baby.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest research, guidelines, and best practices in lactation support.
  • Conduct group education sessions on breastfeeding and related topics for new mothers and their families.
  • Provide emotional support and reassurance to mothers, addressing their concerns and anxieties related to breastfeeding.
