About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assist for a 13-week travel assignment in Pittsfield, MA. This role involves providing first-assist duties in the operating room across various specialties, as well as performing circulating nurse duties and supporting outpatient surgery functions. The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree, 2 years of current First Assist Operating Room experience, and specific certifications.

Requirements

  • 2 years current FIRST ASSIST OPERATING ROOM experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree is required
  • Perm address must be included in profile
  • Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need
  • Massachusetts RN license required
  • Must have Active Certified Perioperative Nurse CNOR certification
  • Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the AHSA during employment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability
  • Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Responsibilities

  • Provides first-assist duties including exposure, tissue handling, retraction, homeostasis, suturing, and wound management
  • Applies knowledge of instrumentation, anatomy, and sterile/aseptic technique
  • Independently scrubs and assists across specialties including, but not limited to Orthopedics, General, Robotics, Vascular, Gynecology, and Spine
  • Anticipates surgeon needs and ensures safe, efficient operative flow
  • Participates in preoperative planning with surgeons and the surgical team
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age and needs of the patient
  • Performs circulating nurse duties according to Operating Room standards and policies
  • Prepares the operating room with supplies, instruments, and equipment needed for the scheduled procedure
  • Supports anesthesia providers and ensures safe patient positioning
  • Monitors compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols
  • Engages in pre admission, preoperative, and postoperative RN duties as applicable to Outpatient Surgery (Outpatient Surgery Center, Pre admission, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)
  • Provides patient and family education regarding the perioperative process
  • Conducts nursing assessments and documents care in accordance with policy
