About The Position

Fast-paced, high volume Labor & Delivery unit is looking for top skilled nurses. Work location: Texas Health Dallas, 8200 Walnut Hill Ln, Dallas, TX 75231. Work hours: Part Time- 24 Hours, Nights 7:00pm – 7:00am, Rotating weekends. Labor & Delivery Department highlights: 375 – 400 deliveries per month, Level IV Maternal Designation, The only Maternal Transport Team at Texas Health, Long tenured team.

Requirements

Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
1 Year Experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting or completion of an RN residency program (Required)
RN – Registered Nurse (Required upon hire)
BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required prior to providing independent patient care; maintained quarterly)
NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Essential) (Required within 90 days of hire)
NRPA – Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (Required within 90 days of hire)
ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Required within 90 days of hire)
CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (Required within 90 days of hire; maintained annually)
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (If newly hired with experience in perinatal nursing and never taken IFM: Required within 6 months)
IFM – Intermediate Fetal Monitoring (If no experience in perinatal nursing: Required within 18 months)

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred
At least 1 year of RN L&D experience (Strongly Preferred)

Responsibilities

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
Assesses the patient
Plans the care of the patient
Intervenes as appropriate
Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
