About The Position

Hartford Hospital is seeking experienced and highly skilled Registered Nurses for its Float Pool, known as the STAR Team. The STAR Team is comprised of nursing professionals with diverse skills, enabling them to confidently transition between different specialties. The team is divided into two groups: Med/Surg and Critical Care. The Med/Surg team floats between approximately 18 units, including Step Down units, while Critical Care RNs primarily float between the six ICUs at Hartford Hospital (MICU, SICU, Cardiac ICU, Neuro ICU, and Cardiothoracic ICU). RNs on the STAR Team utilize extensive nursing skills, strong communication, and collaboration to seamlessly integrate into various units and deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years recent Acute Care RN experience.
Current Connecticut RN License required prior to start date.
Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred).
BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.

Nice To Haves

Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Float between approximately 18 units (including Step Down units) as part of the Med/Surg team.
Float primarily between the six ICUs at Hartford Hospital (MICU, SICU, Cardiac ICU, Neuro ICU and Cardiothoracic ICU) as part of the Critical Care team.
Utilize extensive nursing skills, strong communication, and collaboration skills to assimilate seamlessly into different units.
Provide the highest levels of personalized, compassionate care to patients.
