About The Position

Join a supportive and inspiring Float team at Aurora Medical Center – Summit, where you will be encouraged and guided with ample opportunities for growth, learning, and professional development. The department structure ensures a manageable workload, with staff floating and supporting inpatient units including surgical, neuro, and medical, most featuring just 18 beds. This allows for attentive, high-quality patient care. There may be opportunities to cross-train to IV Therapy, LDRP, and other units. The float team is an integrated, highly engaged team supporting the Summit site, offering expertise, camaraderie, compassion, and shared purpose, where everyone lifts each other up and successes are celebrated together. Aurora Medical Center – Summit is a 117-bed facility staffed by over 260 nurses, delivering state-of-the-art care in a thoughtfully designed space that prioritizes comfort, safety, and privacy. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months
  • Previous RN In-patient experience required (1.5-2 years)

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skilled communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
