About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool. This is a PRN position with a night shift schedule, requiring 12-hour shifts as needed. The role involves providing direct patient care using the nursing process across multiple inpatient units, including Med/Surg, ICU, PCU, ED, L&D, Mother/Baby, NICU, Pre-Op/PACU, and Post-Surgical. The nurse must be flexible to float where needed and collaborate with interprofessional teams to ensure safe, high-quality care. This position reports to the Director or Manager of Department.

Requirements

Active North Carolina or compact state RN license required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

2-4 Years critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
