About The Position

The Clinical Manager provides leadership, supervision, and coordination of therapy services to ensure high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective patient care. The role also maintains fiscal responsibility, facilitates patient care communication, and supports referrals, scheduling, patient visits, and documentation as needed. The position is with Amedisys, part of the Optum family of businesses, which provides home health, hospice, and community-based services.

Requirements

Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
Current RN license specific to the state or states assigned.
Current CPR certification.
At least 1 year of clinical RN experience in home health or hospice.
At least 1 year of RN management experience.

Responsibilities

Recommend staff employment decisions to the director of operations, including hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, and status changes.
Be responsible for the overall quality of patient care and clinical performance of nurses and aides.
Organize clinical operations for the care center.
Review service requests and determine patient eligibility and suitability for home care services.
Coordinate patient referrals and admissions with intake.
Oversee scheduling.
Oversee payor verification and precertification requirements.
Review other staff members' documentation and ensure missing, incomplete, or untimely documentation issues are resolved.
Assist clinicians in establishing immediate and long-term patient goals, setting priorities, and developing plans of care.
Regularly evaluate patient needs and revise plans of care as necessary in collaboration with clinicians.
May provide direct patient care infrequently in emergencies.
Participate in the on-call process.
Assist with staff training to ensure quality care, compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
Participate in investigating and resolving patient, family, and physician concerns.
