About The Position

Silverado Hospice is hiring a Registered Nurse to provide admissions coverage across Los Angeles County. The nurse performs comprehensive evaluations and initiates care plans to support a smooth transition into hospice, delivering dignified, patient-centered care and supporting patients and families during critical moments. The role requires travel to patient locations and may involve working outside regular hours as needed. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM. The anticipated pay range is $55–$60 USD.

Requirements

Valid state Registered Nurse license.
At least 1 year of nursing experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must clear a criminal background check, physical, and drug screening; employment offers are also contingent on TB testing if applicable.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
Willingness to drive to patient locations and work outside regular hours as needed.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing evaluations to admit patients into hospice.
Assess patients for signs and symptoms of discomfort, including pain, and take prompt, appropriate action.
Initiate care plans and provide appropriate nursing follow-up after hours.
Instruct caregivers on managing patient needs and submit documentation within 24 hours of a visit.
Coordinate services provided to patients and families across settings to ensure quality and appropriateness of care.
Follow approved plans of care, modify them as needed, and communicate with physicians when appropriate.
Travel to patient locations throughout Los Angeles County.
