About The Position

Silverado Hospice Austin is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) – Admissions to cover Lockhart, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, South Austin, Lakeway, North Austin, Georgetown, Leander, and Round Rock. The RN performs comprehensive evaluations, initiates care plans, and supports a smooth transition for patients entering hospice. The role provides dignified, patient-centered care and supports patients’ families during critical moments. The successful candidate brings clinical expertise, empathy, and professionalism to a mission-driven environment and guides patients and families through the hospice admission process. The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with willingness to travel to patient locations and work outside regular hours as needed.

Requirements

Registered Nurse with a valid state license.
Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must clear criminal background check, physical, and drug screening.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.
Willingness to drive to patient locations and work outside regular hours as needed.

Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive nursing evaluations to admit patients into hospice.
Assess patients for signs and symptoms of discomfort, including pain, and take prompt, appropriate action.
Initiate care plans and provide appropriate nursing follow-up after hours.
Instruct caregivers on managing patient needs and submit documentation within 24 hours of a visit.
Coordinate services provided to patients and families across settings to ensure quality and appropriateness of care.
Follow approved plans of care, modify them as needed, and communicate with physicians when appropriate.
