About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse position for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) in Atlanta, Georgia. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026. The role involves working on an inpatient medical step-down unit with 16-20 beds, caring for acutely ill adults with complex conditions. The position offers guaranteed hours and competitive weekly pay.

Requirements

Active RN license in Georgia
ACLS and BLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a medical step-down or similar inpatient unit
Experience managing patients with sepsis, heart failure, respiratory compromise, and complex comorbidities
Ability to work day shift in a high-acuity inpatient setting
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Comfortable with 12-hour shifts and a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

Provide direct RN care to adults on a medical step-down unit, maintaining a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Monitor vitals, assess clinical changes, administer medications and IV therapies, and adjust care plans under physician direction
Recognize and respond to deteriorating conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, heart failure decompensation, and hypertensive emergencies
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and ancillary staff to coordinate care, discharge planning, and patient education
Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record with accuracy and timeliness
Ensure safety and infection control practices, perform routine rounds, and provide patient and family education
