About The Position
This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Carbondale, IL. The role involves supporting a 4:1 patient ratio within an inpatient care unit setting, focusing on patients with cardiac and respiratory needs. The position offers guaranteed hours, with opportunities for overtime if desired, and no on-call requirements. The start date for this assignment is August 24, 2026.
Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Ability to work in a PCU environment with a 4:1 patient ratio
- Availability to work 36 hours per week, with potential overtime
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting
Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs, and contribute to the plan of care.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Explain diagnoses, treatments, and care instructions to patients and responsible persons.
- Demonstrate nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
- Maintain complete and accurate medical records in the patient chart.
- Participate in continuing education and meet core measure responsibilities related to patient care.
