About The Position

This Travel - Temporary Assignment supports adult and geriatric post-anesthesia patients and requires professional collaboration with anesthesia and surgical teams. The role is in a Short-Term Acute Care Hospital setting in Marysville, California.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse licensure in California.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year of hire and IV Sedation competency within 6 months of hire (PACU requirement).
At least two years of recent acute care nursing experience; PACU experience preferred.
EPIC experience required or demonstrated competency with EPIC documentation.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide direct post-anesthesia care for patients in the PACU, monitoring vitals, airway status, pain control, and recovery progress.
Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to implement the plan of care and prepare patients for disposition to appropriate units.
Administer medications and IV therapies within scope, including IV sedation as required, and document care in the electronic health record (EPIC).
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, including escalation of care and code response as needed.
Educate patients and families on post-anesthesia care, discharge instructions, and safety considerations.
Maintain patient safety, documentation accuracy, and unit efficiency to support smooth patient flow.
