RN, Operating Room, Northside Gwinnett (Per Diem)
About The Position
The Registered Professional Nurse independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, established guidelines, and the scope of practice defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. Northside Gwinnett's Inpatient Surgery department is a 24-hour service unit at a Level II Trauma Center, with 14 operating rooms. The department primarily handles orthopedic, neuro/orthopedic spine, general, oral, urology, gynecological, and vascular specialties, as well as some plastic, eye, ENT, and thoracic cases. Robotic-assisted surgeries using the da Vinci Xi are offered in urology, general, and gynecological services. Available shifts are 8, 10, or 12 hours. Call is required for most positions, generally from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend call is 48 hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. There are also call or in-house requirements for holidays. Work hours vary.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Georgia RN license in good standing without limitations.
- American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- BSN degree.
- Two years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
- Additional life support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
- Visual color acuity, depending on the role in specific units.
Responsibilities
