About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). This position requires a minimum of 2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience, or strong Level 3 surgical experience from a NICU that performs newborn surgeries. The role involves working variable shifts, including 3x12 hour shifts, either variable days/nights or straight nights. Candidates must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities and between units such as PICU & CVICU, and NICU satellite campuses. Experience with various medical equipment and procedures is essential, including Oscillator, conventional ventilator, CPAP, Nasal Cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC UVC PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes. The nurse must be comfortable with line changes and pre/post-operative care. Requirements

2 years of recent Level 4 NICU experience.
Alternatively, strong Level 3 RN with surgical experience from a Level 3 NICU that performs surgeries on newborns.
BLS certification.
Advanced NRP certification.
CA License (pending license accepted if ETA is provided).
Cardiac experience.
Experience with Oscillator, conventional ventilator, CPAP, Nasal Cannula specialty gases, PICC lines, Broviacs, UAC UVC PAL lines, trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes.
Comfortable with line changes that have multiple drips, pre and post op care.
Must have own transportation.
Must be available to work weekends with full flexibility.
Must work 2 of the following 3 holidays (including Eves): Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
No holiday RTO allowed.
RTO max 6 days.

Nice To Haves

PALS preferred.
Strong first-time traveler with level 4 experience.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the NICU setting.
Administer medications and treatments.
Monitor patient vital signs and condition.
Operate and manage medical equipment including Oscillator, conventional ventilator, CPAP, and Nasal Cannula specialty gases.
Perform procedures such as PICC line insertion, Broviac insertion, UAC/UVC/PAL line insertion, and manage trachs, ostomies, and G-Tubes.
Provide pre and post-operative care.
Float between units (PICU & CVICU) and NICU satellite campuses as needed.
Float within scope to meet facility needs.
Float to sister facilities.
Work weekends and holidays as required.
Adhere to the call-off policy.
Utilize Epic for charting.
