About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located in Lodi, California. The role is within a short-term acute care hospital setting and involves providing coordinated nursing care for neonatal patients in a fast-paced environment. The position requires a BSN and an active RN license in California.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (California)
  • Minimum two years of recent RN experience in a clinical setting
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an approved vendor; per policy, BLS is required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Education: BSN preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity NICU environment and adapt to unit needs, including occasional cross-unit coverage

Responsibilities

  • Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or patient group in the NICU using the nursing process and established standards.
  • Monitor neonates, administer medications, perform assessments, and respond to clinical changes with critical thinking and professional judgment.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans; coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with families to support infant health and safety.
  • Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure a safe, healing environment.
  • Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care; provide patient and family education and support throughout the treatment process.
  • May float to postpartum areas and provide NICU coverage as needed, including NRP-certified support when required.
