About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) located in Burlington, VT. The temporary assignment is for 17 weeks, starting on 09/21/2026, with a weekly pay range of $2,391–$2,471. The shift is 12-hour rotating days and nights (3x12), primarily nights with days as needed. The healthcare setting is a hospital-level care NICU, with the possibility of floating to related newborn units as described in the assignment notes. This is a travel assignment in a NICU teaching facility that provides newborn and mother-baby care.

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state of practice) and ability to work in a hospital NICU setting.
  • American Heart Association BLS and NRP certifications required.
  • NICU Level III experience required; minimum of 2 years NICU experience.
  • Teaching facility experience required.
  • EPIC experience within the past 2 years required.
  • Ability to float across units (newborn NICU, mother/baby, nursery, deliveries, pediatrics/PICU neonates).
  • Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts and to be assigned across the schedule.
  • Reliable transportation required (public transit not available in the area).

Nice To Haves

  • Travel experience preferred; if lacking travel, experience at a large NICU teaching facility acceptable.
  • STABLE and RNC-NIC certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct neonatal nursing care in a Level III NICU, including newborns, mothers, and related units as assigned.
  • Float to newborn NICU, mother/baby, nursery, attending deliveries, pediatrics/PICU with neonates as needed.
  • Participate in newborn rounds and support feeder/grower neonates.
  • Assist in deliveries and provide neonatal stabilization and ongoing monitoring.
  • Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EPIC) per unit policy and within the past two years’ standards.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support family-centered care and safe patient transitions.
