Registered Nurse - MS/Tele
About The Position
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit. The role involves 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM) for a 13-week contract. Experience with EPIC charting is required. The nurse must be available to work every other weekend and every other holiday as needed. Requests for time off or special scheduling must be submitted upon submission of the candidate. The facility may cancel up to three shifts during the contract period without charge. Candidates must have an active New York State RN license and be located more than 75 miles from the facility. BLS and NIHSS certifications are mandatory. The unit has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7. Recent acute care experience within the last 6 months is required. Nurses will be assigned to the MS/Tele unit at the time of offer and may be required to float within their skillset. Scrubs should be any combination of navy blue and white.
Requirements
- Active New York Single State RN license.
- BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- EPIC experience required.
- Must have worked in acute care within the past 6 months.
- RN's must be located more than 75 miles from the facility.
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response (dysrhythmia interpretation/management, Rapid Response/Code team activation).
- IV therapy/phlebotomy (peripheral line care/management).
- Nasal cannula, oxygen administration/tanks, non-invasive airway management.
- Isolation precautions.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit.
- Administer patient care during 7 PM - 7 AM shifts.
- Utilize EPIC for charting.
- Work every other weekend and every other holiday.
- Respond to cardiac monitoring and emergency situations.
- Manage IV therapy and phlebotomy.
- Administer oxygen therapy and manage non-invasive airways.
- Implement and adhere to isolation precautions.
- Float within skillset as needed.
