About The Position

This position is posted as MS Tele due to the EKG requirement for all RNs and the tele-capable unit. The patient population will be primarily Medical-Surgical (MS). The schedule is 3x12s, Days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, with every other weekend (EOW) and holidays as needed. Travelers are subject to floating across all Cone Health facilities if needed. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required, and first-time travelers are welcome. The traveler will be required to pass an EKG exam during onboarding. Patient populations include observation patients, those with respiratory conditions or problems, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative, end-of-life, hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetes (including new diabetics and those with complications), and surgical patients/surgical observation.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• BLS required.
• Must pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
• Proficiency with EPIC.
• Experience with observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative, end-of-life, hospice patients, psychiatric observation, diabetes, and surgical patients.

Nice To Haves

• Previous Charge RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with Medical-Surgical diagnoses.
• Monitor patients, including those with respiratory conditions, diabetes, and surgical needs.
• Care for palliative, end-of-life, and hospice patients.
• Perform psychiatric observation as needed.
• Administer care in a tele-capable unit, requiring EKG proficiency.
• Float to other units or facilities as required.
• Pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
