About The Position
This is a travel/contract Registered Nurse position on an inpatient MS/Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients, as well as higher-acuity med-surg patients. The unit is highly focused on patient experience and supports specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- No first-time travelers — prior travel nursing experience required
- Ability to float to other units based on need and skill set
- Active Tennessee (TN) RN license required
- ACLS — required
- BLS — required
- NIHSS — required
- Flu vaccination required; no exemptions
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a relevant nursing setting
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC experience
- Prior travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers)
Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a stroke/TIA and higher-acuity med-surg unit
- Float to other units based on need and skill set as required
- Manage and care for patients with diagnoses including Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Syncope, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Cath, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, CHF, and Sepsis
- Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
- Perform and support specialized unit procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
- Maintain staffing ratios of 1:6 on nights
- Uphold the unit's strong focus on patient experience
