About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Mother-Baby/Postpartum unit. The position requires a minimum of 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience and at least 2 years as a Registered Nurse. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse will provide care for postpartum and low-risk antepartum patients, managing a patient ratio of 1:3-4 for antepartum or couplets. Responsibilities include breastfeeding assistance, newborn care (vital signs, thermoregulation, managing hypoglycemia, bilirubin levels, and NAS babies), performing newborn lab work and phlebotomy, IV skills (adult), experience with PKU testing, independently caring for 3-4 couplets, providing discharge teaching and vaccinations for neonates, conducting thorough assessments and reassessments for mothers and babies, and performing fundal checks on postpartum patients.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Mother-Baby/Postpartum experience
  • At least 2 years as a Registered Nurse
  • IV skills (adult)
  • Experience with PKU testing
  • Ability to manage NAS babies
  • Ability to manage feeder grower babies
  • Ability to provide discharge teaching and vaccinations for neonates
  • Ability to conduct thorough assessments and reassessments for mothers and babies
  • Ability to perform fundal checks on postpartum patients
  • Ability to manage hypoglycemia and bilirubin levels in newborns

Responsibilities

  • Care for postpartum and low-risk antepartum patients

  • Possible floating to Labor and Delivery (LD) and NICU, including antepartum or recovery and care for NAS and feeder grower babies.
