About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide services in the Community Living Center (CLC), which is comprised of three long-term care units: long-term, short-stay, and hospice/palliative care residents. The RN is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. The RN shall assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care based on age-specific components. Responsibilities include patient activities of daily living, assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, admissions and discharges, internal and external transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures.

Requirements

Completed courses for nursing from an accredited program approved by either the Commission for Education in Nursing or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
A current license in at least one state, territory, or commonwealth in the US or the District of Columbia.
A minimum of three years direct patient care experience.
Must have Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments.
Administer medication and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
Perform ion administration and IV therapy.
Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
Manage admissions and discharges.
Handle internal and external transfers.
Delegate tasks to assistive personnel.
Document in the electronic medical record.
Facilitate patient transport.
Execute emergency response procedures.
