About The Position
The Registered Nurse Lactation Consultant provides coordination of patient and staff education to support, protect, and promote breastfeeding. The role is based at Spring Valley Hospital, a 366-bed hospital in southwest Las Vegas and a member of The Valley Health System. The listed position is per diem with varied scheduling.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
- At least three years of nursing experience, including at least one year in an obstetric setting with a focus on the breastfeeding process.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of current Nevada State Board of Nursing Practice.
- Hold a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nevada.
- Maintain association with professional nursing associations related to practice.
- Hold current IBCLS/IBCLC or CLC certification.
- Hold current BLS and NRP certifications.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or service appropriate to the ages of patients served in the assigned unit or department.
