About The Position
This is a 15-week contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and experience in various aspects of maternal and newborn care.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
- Current certifications in BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring.
- Proficient in conducting cervical exams, fetal monitoring, and handling IVs and medications.
- Experience with newborn care, including baby catching and receiving.
- Comfortable with all aspects of postpartum care.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with scrub duties is considered a bonus.
- Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) is strongly preferred.
- Multilingual abilities, especially in Russian or Spanish, are preferred due to diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct cervical examinations, support antepartum and labor phases, and manage amnio infusions.
- Administer epidurals and monitor fetal status throughout labor.
- Insert IVs and manage the administration of Pitocin as needed.
- Circulate in Cesarean sections when necessary.
- Perform newborn assessments, including APGAR scoring and initial care.
- Provide education and support for breastfeeding.
- Offer comprehensive postpartum care for mothers and newborns from transition through discharge.
