About The Position

This is a travel Registered Nurse assignment in Interventional Radiology at a hospital in Olympia, WA. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 09/28/2026. The role involves providing ICU-level patient care in the interventional radiology procedural area, including monitoring during and after procedures, managing procedural sedation, and responding to critical events. The nurse will maintain a 1:1 patient ratio, assist with various procedures, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and document care in the electronic chart. Adherence to safety and infection control policies is crucial, as is participation in on-call duties and potential float duties to sister facilities.

Requirements

  • Current RN license in Washington state (compact license accepted; license must be in hand at submission; quick-start preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience with documented ICU/critical care background; prior ICU experience is a hard requirement
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • First-timers not eligible for this travel assignment
  • Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced interventional radiology environment; excellent charting and team collaboration skills
  • Travel experience required; willing to work 4x10-hour shifts and participate in on-call coverage as specified

Responsibilities

  • Provide ICU-level patient care in the interventional radiology procedural area, including monitoring during and after procedures and procedural sedation as needed
  • Manage dysrhythmias and monitor hemodynamic status; respond to rapid responses in a timely manner
  • Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio on days/nights/weekends as assigned, and assist with procedures such as CT-guided biopsies, fistulograms, GJ-tube placements, lower-extremity angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, Y90 procedures, and nuclear medicine/stress tests
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (IV team, RT, PT, pharmacy, radiology, phlebotomy, social services) and document care in the electronic chart
  • Adhere to procedural safety, infection control, and unit-specific policies; participate in on-call and shift-staffing requirements as outlined
  • Demonstrate adaptability for occasional float duties to sister facilities as staffing needs arise
