About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Interventional Radiology in Boston, Massachusetts. The role involves supporting interventional radiology procedures in a high-acuity setting. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with guaranteed 40 hours per week on 10-hour shifts. The position requires on-call coverage including nights, weekends, and one major holiday, with a 30-minute callback time.

Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts
2+ years of interventional radiology and critical care experience
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass telemetry interpretation test on day 1 with 85% or better
Ability to work 10-hour shifts and participate in on-call coverage as described

Nice To Haves

Experience in Level I Trauma environments is preferred

Responsibilities

Provide peri-procedural and post-procedural nursing care for interventional radiology patients, including pre-assessment and post-procedure monitoring.
Monitor telemetry and interpret telemetry strips; assist with CT/US-guided procedures; maintain sterile technique and assist physicians.
Manage patient safety, administer medications as ordered, respond to clinical changes, and participate in rapid response as needed.
Document care in the electronic medical record; coordinate with the IR team and ensure appropriate discharge planning and patient education.
Maintain an average patient load consistent with a near 1:1 ratio, with capacity to handle multiple cases per day in a busy IR service.
Participate in on-call coverage as required (nights/weekends/one major holiday) with a 30-minute callback time.
