About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology. The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience, with a hard stop on Epic and Stroke Thrombectomy experience. First-time travelers are not accepted. The patient population ranges from Pediatrics to Geriatrics. The unit utilizes Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR for unit systems. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 rooms with an average daily census of 25. Scrub color will be provided by the facility. The required response time (RTO) is a maximum of 7 days. Nurses are expected to work every third weekend, not exceeding two weekends per month. Floating within the facility and scope of practice may be required. Call is rotated among the team. Holiday work is expected based on the assignment period, with specific guidelines for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Years Eve/New Years Day. Full compliance is required to start on time; non-compliance may result in a two-week delay due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to determine fit, and if approved and within Piedmont guidelines, will be sent to the manager for a final decision. Clinical screens are handled on a case-by-case basis. Locals are accepted at the same rate. The number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours is determined by the contract length.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience.
  • Epic experience required.
  • Stroke Thrombectomy experience required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • NIHSS certification required.
  • Interventional Radiology (IR) RN experience.
  • Ability to respond within a maximum of 7 days (RTO).
  • Willingness to work every third weekend.
  • Willingness to float within the facility/scope of practice.
  • Willingness to participate in call rotations.
  • Willingness to work holidays as assigned.
  • Must be fully compliant to start on time.
  • Pass clinical screen.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients ranging from Pediatrics to Geriatrics in an Interventional Radiology setting.
  • Operate within a unit utilizing Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems.
  • Manage patient care across 4 rooms with an average daily census of 25.
  • Adhere to a schedule that includes working every third weekend (no more than 2 per month).
  • Float within the facility and scope of practice as needed.
  • Participate in a rotated call schedule.
  • Work holidays as assigned, based on the assignment period.
  • Ensure full compliance to start on time.
  • Undergo and pass a clinical screen for fit.
