About The Position

This is a traveling assignment for a Registered Nurse in an ICU unit within a hospital setting in Utica, New York. The assignment is for 13 weeks, starting on 10/05/2026, with guaranteed 36 hours per week on a 2x3 night shift schedule. The role involves providing direct, high-acuity nursing care to ICU patients, including neuro/med, CTICU, and trauma populations. The nurse will monitor patient status, administer medications, manage various lines and devices, and may be required to float to related units as needed.

Requirements

Active New York RN license; Nursys verification; all active RN licenses
ICU experience: minimum 2 years; 4–5 years preferred; travel experience required
AHA ACLS and BLS certifications; NIHSS certification preferred
EPIC EMR experience
Experience with CRRT and Prismaflex; heart/cardiothoracic exposure highly preferred
RTO must be included at submission; valid driver’s license with address matching demographics

Responsibilities

Provide direct, high-acuity nursing care to ICU patients, including neuro/med, CTICU, and trauma populations.
Monitor patient status, administer medications, manage lines and devices; ventilator management; CRRT Prismaflex; IABP; ICP monitoring; TTM as needed.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team; respond to emergencies; ensure patient safety, comfort, and timely interventions.
Document care in the EPIC EMR with accurate, timely charting and clear handoffs during shift changes.
Float to related units as needed to meet patient care requirements; adhere to unit protocols and hospital policies.
Participate in rounds and care planning; communicate changes in patient condition promptly.
