About The Position

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes. This role is for the Fall 2026 New Grad Blitz focusing on Specialty Acute Care and Stepdown Transplant units. The units include 5W Specialty Acute Care, a 16-bed adult medical-surgical unit specializing in transplant recipients and patients with liver conditions, and 6E Stepdown Transplant, a 22-bed unit for post-operative solid organ abdominal transplant patients (kidney, liver, kidney/pancreas). Nurses on 6E work in both Intermediate/Stepdown and Acute Care settings, managing specialized patients with arterial lines and advanced drips. Nurses are provided ACLS certification and peritoneal dialysis training within the first six months. Both units offer a fast-paced, team-focused environment with opportunities for learning and growth.

Requirements

Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
