About The Position

This is a 13-week travel assignment for a Registered Nurse specializing in Geriatric care, located in Aspen, Colorado. The role is in a hospital setting and involves providing direct bedside nursing care to geriatric patients. The position requires adaptability to a high-altitude environment and a focus on patient safety, monitoring, and care planning. The assignment is temporary with no guaranteed hours, and the nurse is responsible for securing their own housing.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Colorado, or ability to obtain prior to start date
• Basic Life Support (BLS); First Aid certification; BLS and First Aid may be obtained upon hire
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
• Not accepting any RTO (no scheduled time off during assignment)
• Must be healthy enough to safely function in a low-oxygen environment at high altitude (8,000 feet)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to geriatric patients, including assessment, monitoring, and care planning
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and document appropriately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, discharge planning, and family communication
• Perform accurate documentation in the electronic health record and ensure compliance with hospital policies
• Monitor patient safety, fall risk, oxygenation, and response to therapy in a high-altitude setting, with escalation as needed
• Adapt plans of care based on changes in patient condition and maintain clinical competency in geriatric care
