As a Float Pool RN, you’ll have the opportunity to work across a variety of high-impact units, including: Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Neurology Progressive Care. The Float Pool offers an exciting opportunity to expand your clinical skills, collaborate with diverse teams, and care for patients across multiple specialties and levels of acuity. Whether you're responding to an emergency, caring for a medical-surgical patient, monitoring complex telemetry patients, or supporting patients requiring neurological progressive care, your expertise will make an impact wherever you go.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Current South Carolina or compact-state Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Flexible, clinically strong, team-oriented, and ready for a challenge.
Enjoys learning new things, working with different teams, and bringing confidence and compassion to every patient encounter.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs of patients and families.
Perform assessments, develop nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, plan and implement interventions, coordinate care, provide health education and promotion, and evaluate patient outcomes.
Deliver age- and developmentally appropriate care consistent with nursing standards, evidence-based practice, and MUSC policies.
Direct and lead assigned team members while collaborating effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
Identify clinical priorities and take initiative to improve patient outcomes.
Coordinate the effective and efficient delivery of patient care through the application of care management principles.
Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment by protecting patient privacy and demonstrating responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, autonomy, and accountability in daily practice.
Actively participate in the professional practice model, including shared governance, peer review, professional development, and leadership initiatives.
Promote a healthy work environment through effective communication, teamwork, collaboration, and respect.
