About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) will work the 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM shift. This role requires the ability to float within the facility. The unit is equipped with 64 beds, including 2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psych beds. Common patient diagnoses include Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, and Respiratory Failure. Specialty equipment includes Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun. The RN will care for patients ranging from Newborns to Geriatrics. Required drips and medications include Pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine & Dopamine), Vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), Anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lido), Sedation (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin.

Requirements

  • Current AHA ACLS certification
  • Current AHA BLS certification
  • Current AHA PALS certification
  • Current NIHSS certification
  • TNCC certification required
  • Active NY License
  • NURSYS Report
  • Up-to-date resume
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department (ED)
  • Some Pediatric (PEDS) experience
  • Documented travel experience
  • Skills Checklist matching specialty
  • Driver's license with address matching demographics
  • EPIC EMR experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
  • Administer medications and infusions, including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, and sedatives.
  • Operate and monitor specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun.
  • Care for a diverse patient population including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Respond to critical patient conditions including Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, and Respiratory Failure.
  • Float to other units as needed.
  • Document patient care using the EPIC EMR system.
