About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. This position requires a current NYS RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or willingness to obtain within 6 months). Experience with MEDITECH and travel nursing is required. Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Nursing. While direct Emergency Department experience is not always required, a minimum of one year of acute care nursing experience is mandatory. The role involves identifying and intervening in life-threatening situations, providing quality patient care, assessing patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, spiritual), recognizing and managing safety issues, and safely using patient lifts. The nurse must be able to function effectively in stressful situations, possess strong problem-solving and leadership skills, and be able to prioritize and delegate. IV, medication, and phlebotomy certification are required during orientation. Successful completion of a lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and defibrillation certification within six months of employment are also required.

Requirements

  • Current NYS RN license required.
  • BLS and ACLS required.
  • PALS required or obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer.

  • TRAVEL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Must be able to function well in stressful situations and have good, creative, problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize and delegate.
  • Must successfully complete lethal dysrhythmia exam during probation and be defibrillation certified within six months of employment.
  • Must be IV, medication and phlebotomy certified during orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical Care and charge experience preferred.
  • May begin entry level without Emergency Department experience
