About The Position

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) will work the 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM shift. This role requires the ability to handle common patient diagnoses including Stroke, Sepsis, Trauma, MI, Cardiac Arrest, and Respiratory Failure. The RN will utilize specialty equipment such as the Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun. Patients range from Newborn to Geriatric. The unit has 64 beds, including 2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psych beds. Required drips and medications include Pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine & Dopamine), Vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), Anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lido), Sedation (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin.

Requirements

• Must live 75 miles away from the facility (local rates apply for those less than 75 miles).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Emergency Department.
• Some Pediatric experience required.
• Documented travel experience.
• Skills Checklist matching specialty.
• Drivers license with address matching demographics.
• Current AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS.
• TNCC is required.
• NURSYS Report.
• Licenses verification with ACTIVE NY License.
• RTO must be included at time of submission.
• EMR Experience Required: EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.

• Float to other units as needed.
• Potentially serve in a charge nurse capacity (highly preferred).
