Registered Nurse (RN) Educator - Surgery
About The Position
The Registered Nurse Educator for Surgery Services develops, supports, and inspires nursing staff across the perioperative setting. The role leads educational initiatives, coordinates orientation and competency programs, supports evidence-based practice, and serves as a clinical resource for nurses and surgical team members. The educator helps equip caregivers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide exceptional patient care, maintains clinical expertise through occasional direct patient care, and partners with leaders to advance professional development and clinical excellence.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain Indiana licensure.
- Minimum of three years of hospital clinical nursing experience.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively educate, mentor, and support healthcare professionals.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous educator, preceptor, staff development, or clinical training experience.
- Previous perioperative, surgical services, PACU, OR, or outpatient surgery experience.
Responsibilities
