About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time (36 hours per week) Registered Nurse Coordinator at our Broadway Medical - Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Clinic in Northeast Portland. This role involves collaborating with a team of patient-focused colleagues and physicians to deliver world-class care with kindness and empathy. You will play a key role in ensuring patients receive high-value care tailored to their needs by providing a consistent, efficient, and easy experience for patients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Healthcare experience is a plus!
  • ACLS may be required by specialty.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a Physician(s) and within their scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Work directly with physicians and staff in coordinating excellent patient care, acting as the primary liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Perform patient assessment and triage either in person or over the phone, documenting all encounters and flagging urgent concerns.
  • Perform clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty, which may include taking vitals, recording and verifying medications, wound care, phlebotomy, injections, and administering oral and/or IV medications and treatments.
  • Provide health education to patients and families.
  • Order prescription refills according to clinic protocol.
  • Assist physicians with procedures according to prescribed standards and anticipate physician needs.
  • Order and maintain medical inventory of supplies, check emergency medication and IV trays regularly, and support the QA/QI process.
  • Be cross-trained in multiple areas or assigned additional clinic duties (e.g., supply management, safety coordinator) and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Act as a resource regarding workflow, policies, and procedures, training new and existing staff, and assisting in evaluating staff efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in coordinating daily rooming assignments, cross coverage, and coverage assistance throughout the day.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
