Endoscopy Technician for GI in NE Portland (Gateway)
About The Position
Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Endoscopy Technician in our Gastroenterology East at Gateway Clinic in Northeast Portland. This role involves working alongside a collaborative team to provide patient-focused care. You will assist with procedures, perform specialty-related tests, monitor sedated patients, handle specimens, reprocess instruments, maintain a clean and safe environment, respond to emergencies, and assist medical staff with patient preparation and post-procedure care. The position also includes clinical support duties such as quality control and equipment maintenance. Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous Endoscopy Technician or Medical Assistant experience is strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire
- Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask
- Excellent attendance and work ethic
- Positive attitude and desire to be a team player
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members
- A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety
Nice To Haves
- Specialty GI experience is a plus!
- Medical Assistants and CNAs are encouraged to apply!
- Epic experience is a plus!
Responsibilities
- Assisting with procedures
- Performing specialty-related tests/monitoring
- Monitoring sedated patients as needed
- Collecting, properly labeling, and handling specimens in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards
- Ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen verification processes are followed
- Performing reprocessing and disinfecting of instruments
- Maintaining a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment
- Responding to emergency situations as directed
- Assisting the medical staff by collecting information, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for procedures
- Performing post-procedure duties including assisting with post-anesthesia recovery, providing information and education, and transporting patients
- Performing clinical support duties as assigned; may include quality control, maintenance of equipment and checking for outdated medication/equipment
- Assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the departments and with other duties as assigned
