About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time Endoscopy Technician in our Gastroenterology East at Gateway Clinic in Northeast Portland. This role involves working alongside a collaborative team to provide patient-focused care. You will assist with procedures, perform specialty-related tests, monitor sedated patients, handle specimens, reprocess instruments, maintain a clean and safe environment, respond to emergencies, and assist medical staff with patient preparation and post-procedure care. The position also includes clinical support duties such as quality control and equipment maintenance. Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous Endoscopy Technician or Medical Assistant experience is strongly preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty GI experience is a plus!
  • Medical Assistants and CNAs are encouraged to apply!
  • Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with procedures
  • Performing specialty-related tests/monitoring
  • Monitoring sedated patients as needed
  • Collecting, properly labeling, and handling specimens in accordance with facility policy and regulatory standards
  • Ensuring accurate patient identification and specimen verification processes are followed
  • Performing reprocessing and disinfecting of instruments
  • Maintaining a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment
  • Responding to emergency situations as directed
  • Assisting the medical staff by collecting information, taking vital signs, and preparing patients for procedures
  • Performing post-procedure duties including assisting with post-anesthesia recovery, providing information and education, and transporting patients
  • Performing clinical support duties as assigned; may include quality control, maintenance of equipment and checking for outdated medication/equipment
  • Assisting with the overall delivery of patient care in the departments and with other duties as assigned
