About The Position

Join The Oregon Clinic as a full-time (32 hours per week) Patient Services Specialist at our Broadway Medical Clinic in Northeast Portland. This role is phone-based and focuses on providing patients and stakeholders with a consistent, efficient, and easy experience, ensuring patients receive high-value care tailored to their needs. Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year of previous medical front office experience is required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Familiarity with insurance requirements and referral processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent phone skills and customer service skills.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatrics, pediatrics behavioral health, internal medicine, dermatology, and/or adult behavioral health healthcare experience is a plus!
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred.
  • Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for checking in and out new/established patients.
  • Promotes efficient physician scheduling and patient access by properly scheduling and rescheduling patients’ appointments according to all office protocols and physician requests in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Obtaining and completing insurance information.
  • Answering phones on multi-line system.
  • Processing of incoming and outgoing referrals and electronic fax submissions.
  • Updating registration and EMR records as needed.
  • Managing multiple work queues (pre-registration, appointment requests, and referrals).
  • Excellent communication with clinical teams to ensure patients are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.
