Registered Nurse Case Manager (1099) - Maui, HI & Oahu, HI
About The Position
The IMA Group is seeking experienced Registered Nurse Case Managers to coordinate workers' compensation cases on Oahu and/or Maui, Hawaii, as 1099 independent contractors. The field-based role combines local travel with remote documentation and offers flexible scheduling and caseloads. Case Managers coordinate medical care for injured workers and serve as liaisons among healthcare providers, employers, adjusters, and attorneys. The role does not involve bedside care, weekends, or on-call responsibilities. The IMA Group describes its established support team and steady referral volume as support for the role.
Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license.
- At least 3 years of Workers' Compensation Field Case Management experience.
- Ability to work independently with a flexible caseload.
- Reliable transportation for local travel on Oahu and/or Maui.
- Malpractice insurance, or the ability to obtain it.
Nice To Haves
- CCM, CRRN, or similar certification.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee medical treatment plans.
- Attend medical appointments and evaluate treatment progression.
- Communicate with providers, employers, attorneys, and insurance carriers.
- Assess medical necessity and appropriateness of care.
- Prepare timely, detailed case management reports.
- Support return-to-work and transitional duty planning.
- Coordinate Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and job site evaluations.
