About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse – Adult Care for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY. This is a contract position for 13 weeks with a strong possibility of extension. The role involves providing direct bedside nursing care to medical-surgical patients, administering medications and treatments, performing various nursing procedures, monitoring patient conditions, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The nurse will also be responsible for patient and family education and ensuring compliance with nursing standards and safety protocols.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Active New York State RN License.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification.
Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical experience.
Experience must be within the last year.
Physical Assessment skills.
Medication Administration experience.
Wound Care & Infection Control experience.
IV Therapy experience.
Post-Operative Care experience.
Patient Education experience.
Telemetry Monitoring experience.

Nice To Haves

AHA ACLS Certification.
Experience in a large acute care hospital setting.
EPIC EMR experience.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Provide direct bedside nursing care to medical-surgical patients.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Perform wound care, infection control procedures, and IV therapy.
Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
Assist with post-operative patient care and recovery.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Educate patients and families regarding treatments, procedures, and discharge planning.
Ensure compliance with nursing standards, facility policies, and patient safety protocols.
