About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Care (Med/Surg) for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY. This position involves providing direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients, administering medications and treatments, and monitoring patient conditions. The role requires collaboration with physicians and healthcare professionals, patient and family education, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (required for Queens locations).
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience.
- Experience within the past year in a large acute care hospital setting or post-acute care facility.
- Physical Assessment skills.
- Medication Administration experience.
- Wound Care & Infection Control experience.
- IV Therapy experience.
- Post-Operative Care experience.
- Patient Education experience.
- Telemetry Monitoring experience.

- Experience working in high-volume acute care hospital environments.
- Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient care coordination skills.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
- Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients.
- Administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Perform wound care, infection control procedures, IV therapy, and catheter insertion.
- Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
- Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals on patient care and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and recovery plans.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with nursing standards and protocols.
