About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) – Adult Care (Med/Surg) for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY. This position involves providing direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients, administering medications and treatments, and monitoring patient conditions. The role requires collaboration with physicians and healthcare professionals, patient and family education, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (required for Queens locations).
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience.
  • Experience within the past year in a large acute care hospital setting or post-acute care facility.
  • Physical Assessment skills.
  • Medication Administration experience.
  • Wound Care & Infection Control experience.
  • IV Therapy experience.
  • Post-Operative Care experience.
  • Patient Education experience.
  • Telemetry Monitoring experience.

  • Experience working in high-volume acute care hospital environments.
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration and patient care coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre-operative and post-operative patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments while maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Perform wound care, infection control procedures, IV therapy, and catheter insertion.
  • Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
  • Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals on patient care and discharge planning.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatments, and recovery plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with nursing standards and protocols.
