About The Position

Ascension Via Christi St Joseph is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Adult Psychiatry Nursing Unit. This is a full-time, night-shift position with a weekend and holiday rotation. The role involves guiding patient recovery through comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, leading therapeutic interventions like group therapy, shaping personalized care strategies with an interdisciplinary team, and empowering patient progress by implementing and adjusting nursing care plans.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments that capture the full picture of a patient’s needs and strengths.
• Conduct or co-lead group therapy sessions, providing patients with the tools and community they need to heal.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to design and refine goals that reflect the patient’s evolving status.
• Implement and adjust nursing care plans in real-time, ensuring every intervention is purposeful and responsive to the patient’s unique challenges.
