About The Position

The Registered Dietitian is responsible for providing nutritional care individually and as part of an interdisciplinary outpatient care team. The Registered Dietitian is responsible for educating patients, family, professional staff and students/interns. The Registered Dietitian works under general direction at the UAMS Health Benton/Bryant location.

Requirements

Registered Dietitian
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
Registered Dietitian (RD)
Licensed Dietitian (LD) in the State of Arkansas
Completion of a dietetic internship
Strong oral and written communication skills
Basic computer skills
Interviewing candidates with all levels of experience - Nutrition, LD & RD
Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

Clinical experience
Registered Dietitian and Licensed by the State of Arkansas preferred
Registered Dietitian II RD, LD 1-year clinical experience
Registered Dietitian III Master’s degree required or Specialty Certification required
Precepts dietetic interns in the UAMS internship program
2+ years’ experience
Registered Dietitian IV 4 + years’ experience Masters required Specialty Certification required

Responsibilities

Assessing the nutritional needs of the patient and making recommendations to meet those needs.
Documentation in the electronic medical record.
Education of family, students and other professional staff.
Teaching, discussing with medical staff and other caregivers the patient needs.
Clerical and office duties.
Presentations outside the hospital as required.
Other duties as assigned.
