About The Position

Bayshore Northern Staffing is seeking a Registered Counseling Therapist for part-time work at a healthcare clinic serving clients of various risk levels, including adult males and females, families, pregnant women, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, minors, persons with medical conditions or disabilities, addictions, suspected or diagnosed mental illness, and victims of human trafficking. The role involves receiving, assessing, and treating clients when medical attention is required or requested, and coordinating care with local health providers.

Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years, working as a Registered Counseling Therapist.
• A Master's degree (Psychology, Social Work, Nursing) and professional certification from the provincially regulated authority.
• A certificate in Mental Health and Addictions Counselling.
• A valid RELIABILITY STATUS security clearance.
• A Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (must be within one-year).
• Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (must be within two-years).

Responsibilities

• Conducting individual assessments.
• Providing addictions counselling and therapy.
• Developing individual treatment plans.
• Evaluating and monitoring individual progression.
• Maintaining and updating records.
• Making appropriate referrals to medical professionals.
• Providing awareness about external resources for continuing support.
