About The Position

As a Lecturer in Counselling, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and contribute to research collaborations and scholarly outcomes within the School of Law and Society. Your expertise will help prepare the next generation of counselling professionals through innovative curriculum design, contemporary teaching practices, and strong connections between theory and practice. You will also contribute to research projects and publications, supervise honours and higher degree research students, and engage with industry, professional bodies, and community organisations to strengthen student opportunities and the University's impact. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth and success of UniSC's Counselling program.

Requirements

Completion or near-completion of a doctoral qualification in counselling or a closely related discipline (or equivalent accreditation and standing).
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, including curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation, supported by peer review, student feedback, and/or student outcomes.
Evidence of research activity, including publications, participation in research projects, and supervision or co-supervision of honours and HDR candidates.
Membership of, and connections with, relevant professional bodies, community organisations, and/or professional practice.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach that contributes to a positive and inclusive academic environment.
Evidence of ongoing professional development and a commitment to continuous improvement as an academic.

Nice To Haves

Experience undertaking academic administrative responsibilities, such as course coordination, within a university.
Experience contributing to successful research grant applications.

Responsibilities

Contribute to learning and teaching in counselling through the design, delivery, and evaluation of high-quality curriculum and student learning experiences.
Undertake research, contribute to publications and grant applications, supervise honours and HDR candidates, and build your research profile.
Engage with industry, professional bodies, and community partners while contributing to School governance, academic administration, and initiatives that enhance the student experience.
