Registered Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). They use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills and reduce interfering behaviors. The role is intended for people who are passionate about helping children with autism reach their potential and who are patient, compassionate, and able to work well with a team. Comprehensive training is provided, including for candidates without current experience. Children may be unpredictable and potentially confrontational, and the work involves substantial movement and physical activity. The employer describes the role as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.
