About The Position

Polk Mechanical is seeking a Regional Safety Manager (RSM) to provide strategic safety leadership across multiple projects and locations within an assigned region. This is not a site-assigned safety role; the RSM leads and develops Safety Managers, Safety Coordinators, and Safety Representatives through Event Learning Opportunities (ELOs), coaching, and mentorship, while supporting the company’s long-term safety strategy.

Requirements

OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications are required.
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities.
Advanced understanding of construction safety systems and risk management.
Ability to influence at all organizational levels.
Ability to travel across multiple sites within the region.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field is strongly preferred.
10 or more years of construction safety experience is strongly preferred.
7–10 years of leadership or management experience is strongly preferred.
CHST, CHSO, SHEP, or MA certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership and oversight for all safety personnel within the assigned region.
Serve as the primary regional safety liaison to Operations leadership and the Safety Director.
Ensure consistent application of safety programs, policies, and expectations across multiple sites.
Lead and facilitate Event Learning Opportunities (ELOs) focused on learning and prevention.
Analyze regional incidents, near-misses, and high-risk activity trends to identify systemic opportunities.
Develop and mentor Safety Managers, Coordinators, and Representatives.
Directly manage Safety Managers within the assigned region and conduct annual performance evaluations.
Develop regional safety strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
Lead regional budget planning for safety resources and development.
Standardize safety practices across all business units within the region.
