About The Position

The Regional Medical Scientific Director (RMSD) for Cardiovascular & Metabolism is a credentialed therapeutic and disease expert who conducts scientific exchange with leaders in the external medical and scientific community. The RMSD provides balanced, factual scientific information on non-product areas of company interest, answers scientific questions—including questions about company products—and supports the pillars of Scientific Exchange, Clinical Research, Scientific Congress Support, and Scientific Insights. The territory is Michigan and Northern Ohio. This is a remote role, and the employee must reside within the territory. Travel may be up to 50%. Scientific exchange is non-promotional: the RMSD has no sales objectives or accountability and must not advise on the diagnosis or treatment of individual patients. The RMSD supports understanding of company-sponsored clinical trials and investigator-sponsored research, including identifying enrollment barriers, recommending sites and potential investigators when requested, and discussing research alignment and scientific merit with external leaders. The role also supports scientific congresses, gathers insights about healthcare practitioner and patient needs, and serves as a role model for field medical colleagues through onboarding and therapeutic training. The role requires a PhD, PharmD, DNP, or MD and at least three years of relevant Cardiovascular & Metabolism therapeutic-area experience beyond that obtained in the terminal degree program. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable. The listed base salary range for the primary location is $190,800–$300,300.
